Microneedling in Toronto
Softer acne scars. Refined pores. A luminous glow that continues to improve — powered by your skin’s own natural collagen renewal.
What is microneedling?
At Pureté, we use the advanced InnoPen™ by MD Biologix for medical-grade microneedling designed to precisely stimulate collagen production and transform skin texture. Every treatment is performed by advanced nurse injectors for a highly customized experience and controlled results that reveal smoother, firmer, healthier-looking skin over time.
Not all microneedling is equal. At Pureté we treat with the InnoPen, an industry-leading medical-grade device that delivers consistent, controlled needle depth across every pass. Each treatment uses a sterile, single-use cartridge, and a topical numbing cream keeps you comfortable throughout.
Microneedling also opens a brief window where actives absorb dramatically better. Many clients pair their session with a targeted booster — exosomes for accelerated healing, Salmon DNA for repair and elasticity, or Vitamin C for brightness — delivered through the fresh microchannels for maximum effect.
Benefits of microneedling
- Smooths fine lines — Fresh collagen firms the skin and softens early wrinkles.
- Softens acne scars — Progressive improvement in rolling scars, old blemish marks and uneven tone.
- Minimizes pores — Refines texture for a smoother, more even complexion.
- Firms & tightens — Improves elasticity for skin that looks and behaves younger.
- Fades stretch marks — A dedicated series softens and blends stretch marks over time.
- Boost your glow — Add targeted boosters for an extra radiant finish.
Boosters you can add
The micro-channels created during your treatment are the perfect delivery route for regenerative serums — added in the same session, chosen with your nurse.
What can microneedling treat?
- Acne scars Rolling and boxcar scarring softens progressively as new collagen fills from beneath.
- Fine lines & early wrinkles Collagen induction smooths early lines and helps slow new ones forming.
- Enlarged pores Pores tighten and refine as the skin around them rebuilds and firms.
- Uneven texture & stretch marks Rough texture, dullness and stretch marks improve over a dedicated series.
How many microneedling sessions do I need?
One session gives you a glow; a series is what changes your skin.
General rejuvenation typically takes 3–4 sessions. Deeper acne scarring or hyperpigmentation usually needs 4–6, and stretch marks or deep wrinkles can take five or more. Your nurse maps this at your consultation.
Expect redness, mild swelling and sensitivity for 24–48 hours. Most clients are back to their normal routine the next day, with an early glow showing at one to two weeks.
Collagen keeps remodelling long after your final session. Results typically last 6–12 months and are maintained with a top-up session every 6–12 months.
Your appointment, step by step
Plan for about 45–60 minutes in clinic, numbing included.
-
Cleanse & numb
Your skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied, so the treatment itself feels like light prickling at most.
-
Treatment mapping
Your nurse confirms the plan — target areas, needle settings and any booster you’ve chosen.
-
InnoPen passes
Controlled, even passes create thousands of precise microchannels that trigger collagen production.
-
Booster or serum infusion
Exosomes, Salmon DNA, Vit C or a hydrating serum is applied while the channels are open.

Microneedling questions, answered
What is microneedling and how does it work?
Microneedling uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin, triggering your body’s natural healing response and boosting collagen and elastin production. Over a series of sessions the result is smoother, firmer, more even skin — with improvement in acne scars, fine lines, pores and overall texture.
Does microneedling hurt?
Most clients feel only mild discomfort. We apply a topical numbing cream before every treatment, so the session itself usually feels like light prickling or a warm vibration. The 24–48 hours afterward feel like a mild sunburn — tight, warm and a little sensitive.
How many microneedling sessions do I need?
For general rejuvenation, plan on 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Acne scarring and hyperpigmentation usually take 4–6 sessions, and stretch marks or deep wrinkles can need five or more. You’ll get a precise session count at your consultation — not a one-size answer.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
An early glow shows within 1–2 weeks, with full results developing over several months as collagen keeps rebuilding. Results typically last 6–12 months with good skincare and daily SPF, and a maintenance session every 6–12 months keeps them going.
How much does microneedling cost in Toronto?
Toronto clinics commonly charge a few hundred dollars per session, but device quality varies enormously. At Pureté, microneedling with the medical-grade InnoPen is $389 per session, or $749 with an exosome infusion. — an entry-level pen is not the same treatment.
What’s the downtime after microneedling?
Minimal. Expect redness, mild swelling and sensitivity for 24–48 hours — like a mild sunburn. No makeup for at least 3–4 days, and avoid sweating and hot water for a day or two, and hold actives for 5–7 days. Most clients are back to normal the next day.
How do I prepare for a microneedling appointment?
Stop retinol, exfoliants and acids five days before your session, avoid alcohol for 24 hours, stay well hydrated and arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotion or sunscreen. We handle everything else, including numbing, on the day.
Should I add PRP or a booster to my microneedling?
If you want faster, deeper results, yes. PRP turns the treatment into a Vampire Facial, adding your own concentrated growth factors, while exosomes speed healing and amplify collagen. For straightforward texture and maintenance, microneedling alone is genuinely enough.
Microneedling or Potenza RF — which should I choose?
If your concerns are texture, scars, pores and glow, traditional microneedling is the right, more affordable tool. If laxity — sagging, jawline softening, deeper wrinkles — is the real issue, Potenza RF adds the energy needed to tighten. Our guide, RF vs traditional microneedling, covers it in depth.
Is microneedling safe for all skin types?
Yes — mechanical microneedling is safe across all skin tones, including deeper skin tones where some lasers carry pigmentation risk. It isn’t suitable during active breakouts or infections, or for those prone to keloid scarring, which is exactly why every first treatment starts with a nurse assessment.
